| New features for the virtual classroom |
|
The new virtual classroom is now up and running. This update includes one of the functions most requested by our users: Share Desktop. What does the Share Desktop do? This option allows users to show other guests what they are viewing on the blackboard of the virtual meeting room. The function can be used by users with blackboard rights, be they presenters or participants. Only one desktop can be shared at a time. Since the entire Wormhole LMS platform is designed to run on the navigator, the function requires that the user have the Java plug-in installed. This plug-in is incorporated to most Internet navigators, but users who do not have it are automatically redirected to the Java website where they can download the plug-in. Once activated, the user can select to share the full screen or only a screen section, using the arrows that appear on screen. After selecting “Start sharing”, the other users will view the selected screen section on the room's blackboard. It is important to note that this function will only allow other users in the room to observe the work of the presenter or other participant when it is activated. The function does not allow files to be modified, and it includes all of the usual privacy and security measures at Wormhole LMS. This is a beta version, so we appreciate any feedback users have to offer and we hope to continue improving this tool for you. |
