The american NGO presented the 46th International Selection Panel where 40 entrepeneurs from 10 countries were selected: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Greece, Lebanon, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Uruguay.

Onapsis (winner of Buenos Aires Emprende 2009), Keepcon (winner of Buenos Aires Emprende 2008), and Wormhole (winner of Buenos Aires Emprende 2008) were recognized by Sadosky-CESSI Foundation, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Argentina Endeavor Foundation.

This last tuesday, october 30th, the local offices of the Massachusetts Technology Institute (MIT) hosted the TR35 awards ceremony, for the 10 innovators in science and technology under 35 selected in Argentina and Uruguay.

The event was organized by Florida International University from November 16th to 18th in Miami, inviting innovative companies from Latin America and the Carribbean.

In the presentation round each selected company would give a conference for investors and market leaders willing to support new projects. "The investor community sees AVCC as a shop window for entrepeneurs from Latin America and Southern Florida", says Irma Becerra-Fernández, founder and co-president.

Wormhole IT was selected as one of the Top Global Innovative Ventures and, as a consequence, was invited to Miami on November 16th and 17th to the America's Venture Capital Conference, where we will be presenting our products on out very own stand.

Wormhole IT was invited to participate in the first Wayra Week Argentina, where 10 proyects were selected to carry out their proposal and receive financial support as well as guidance from the experts at Wayra Academy in Buenos Aires.

We would like to share yet another source of pride for our company: Wormhole has been selected as a finalist for the Award for Argentine Intelligence: Sadosky de Oro 2010 in the category "IT Industry - Technology Entrepreneurs.”

Special Mention: International Alliances

We received the International Alliance Award in this Latin American competition of business plans organized by the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) in collaboration with the Organization of American States (OAS). The winners receive mentoring and training with specialized consultants, as well as the marketing and visibility provided as part of the award.

The quality of our Internet-based videoconferencing tool and our solid business strategy placed us among the top eight of the thirty semi-finalists. More than 1,200 teams from around the world participated in this global competition of business plans for entrepreneurs organized by Intel and the Haas Business School at UC Berkeley. We became finalists after winning the Intel Latin American Challenge 2009, and this served as an excellent chance to receive advice from international mentors. It also allowed us to establish a network of professional contacts that will help us enter new markets.

After taking first place in Argentina, we participated in the regional competition and came up against the finalists from Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica and Mexico. At the regional level, we also took first place in the Intel Challenge Latin America 2009, a regional program for entrepreneurs organized by Intel in order to promote innovative technological developments with viable business models. In addition to the financial prize, we did plenty of networking at the Intel+UC Berkeley Technology Entrepreneurship Challenge (IBTEC) and opened up new opportunities for international business.
