Movistar, another success story

Client Goal

Movistar Argentina, the number one cell phone operator in the country, held a public tender for the development and operation of a sales channel via Internet. The winner of the tender was the agency Brandlive eCommerce, which was entrusted with adding the functionalities of e-commerce to the virtual store and designing the software pieces for marketing.

The Solution

In order to establish a robust, scalable, flexible e-commerce platform, Brandlive called on Wormhole IT to help implement the solution. For this project, Wormhole IT provided a software architect, a project leader and four developers who worked under the supervision of a general manager from Brandlive. The work was done at our facilities, with frequent progress meetings held at the Brandlive offices.

The technology used to develop the project included Microsoft .NET 2.0, Microsoft ASP.NET Ajax, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, jQuery and Google Charts. This allowed us to make use of the components that we had already developed, thus optimizing the implementation schedule. On the other hand, the use of these technologies guaranteed that the platform would be able to handle the large volume of transactions expected for the site.

Benefits

Through the joint efforts of Brandlive IT and Wormhole IT, the store went from 100,000 users per month to over 1.8 million, supporting thousands of monthly transactions. Over the past two years, more than 60 incremental implementations have been done to keep the platform functional and up-to-date, giving Movistar the quality it requires.
